The Weekly Drip - Season 4 Episode 14
Well we can't have a Wednesday without another episode of the Weekly Drip! Our Dripping Springs community enthusiasts, Ashley Tullis and Amber Pierce are at it again, filling us in on all things Dripping Springs. and we have none other than Taylor Swift herself joining Ashley Tullis, Dripping Springs #1 realtor today! Ok, just kidding, it was Amber Pierce with COIT Cleaning and Restoration just rocking the red lip this week, but my gosh she could be a doppelgänger for Taylor Swift ANY DAY! As usual, Dripping Springs' favorite duo is here sharing all that's going in this week in our beloved little town. Keep on reading for the Weekly Drip recap or you can catch the video replay below. These ladies will be here live on Facebook every Wednesday at 2pm CST so be sure to tune in next week!
Let's jump right in to all the food talk. Would you expect anything less from these ladies? Ashley was enjoying a gluten-free cookie from Thyme and Dough as they began the show. Amber shared her favorite cookie from Thyme and Dough is their chocolate espresso toffee cookie. She also let us in on her little secret that you can call Thyme and Dough before hand to see if they have any of them and sometimes you'll get lucky and they will be fresh out of the oven. Sounds like Amber is going to have some competition for hot out of the oven chocolate espresso toffee cookies from Thyme and Dough now that she's let that cat out of the bag! Ashley also shared she utilized the service from Shipt to send something to someone in Austin last week. It's essentially almost like an errand service that will go to any store to pick up something for you and deliver it.... now that's got me thinking about those hot out of the oven chocolate espresso toffee cookies from Thyme and Dough.... can I Shipt those to myself???
Amber has the scoop on some fun Saturday activities as usual. Le Muse is doing a DIY succulent event at 11:00am on Saturday for $32.48 (or $30+ tax as our math whiz Ashley confirmed for us). Dripping Springs Distilling is doing a Sip and Shop with Vibe Market from 12pm-5pm Saturday. Amber let us know that Vibe Market is a group of artisans that travel and do big events all over. At the Dripping Springs Distilling event, there will be over 50 artists, creatives and, makers in addition to the usual drinks, food, and live music of course. Amber shared she is a sucker for a craft fair. Ashley shared she is a sucker for Dripping Springs Distilling's happy hour. She says it is hands down the best happy hour deal in town. Their craft cocktails are $5, you can make it a double for an extra $2.50, yes please. And then their delicious hamburger sliders are only $2.00 a piece!
Amber recently checked out the new Mexican restaurant in Dripping Springs, Paloma. She didn't eat there because she had already eaten, but the smell of the food was amazing enough for her to strongly consider having a 2nd dinner. Why in the heck was she there if she wasn't going to eat you ask?? Well she let us know they still have the putt putt area there from the previous business and that was her choice of Mother's Day activity. She said they also added a patio area for more seating as well and will definitely be going back to try the food. Ashley shared she hasn't yet made it over to Paloma either, but saw a picture of their shrimp cocktail looking fine and delicious so something tells me there will be more talk about Paloma on a not so far off future episode of the Weekly Drip. Mark my words!
For more weekend fun, Amber shared that on Sunday, 12 Fox Beer is having a summer flower painting class. Ashley also let us know that Meagan Tubb is playing there at 12 Fox Beer on Friday at 5pm and Bell Springs Winery on Saturday from 3-6pm. Ashley says every time she happens to bump into Meagan Tubb playing somewhere around town she really enjoys the music. Amber admitted she hasn't yet seen Meagan Tubb perform but is promptly adding it to the list.
Amber asked Ashley what her favorite local swimming hole is as summer is quickly approaching. Ashley mentioned if you can get a reservation for Hamilton Pool, that would definitely be one of her favorites. She and her husband are also Texas State Alumi and have a soft spot for any river in the general vicinity of San Marcos if you're willing to go outside the Dripping Springs area just a little. Amber shared her favorite summer swimming area is Cypress Falls right off of RR-12 in Wimberley. It sounds like there is music and food trucks and tons of fun to be had there! Another favorite Ashley brought up is Krause Springs in Spicewood. The water is always cold and no one is complaining about that around here in the dead of summer!
The last event our lovely ladies had to share today is this Saturday, there is the Blue Hole Star Party from 8:30pm to 10:30pm. They do this event twice a year at the Blue Hole in Wimberley, another International Dark Sky Community just like Dripping Springs. Sounds like the stars at night will be big and bright out there as well so go check it out!
