The Weekly Drip - Season 4 Episode 15

This isn't our first rodeo when it comes to sharing all things going on in Dripping Springs. Ashley Tullis and Amber Pierce are regular professionals hyping up all Dripping Springs has to offer! Episode 15 is coming at you with none other than the Dripping Springs Rodeo! It's also not Dripping Springs's first rodeo either, but I bet it will be a fun one! Of course these ladies have way more to share than just a little old rodeo. Keep on reading for the Weekly Drip recap to see what's going on around Dripping Springs this week or you can catch the video replay below. Amber is appreciating the rain we're getting, keeping everything green, keeping all our swimming holes filled, and keeping our hair nice and big and full! 

Ashley is busy busy busy with the end of school approaching. She only has one kiddo and is baffled at how those with more than one stay afloat. She shared a funny story of attending the Dripping Springs Middle School band performance and thinking her son was waving at her, only to find out he was actually waving at another momma behind her! Ouch! Amber had a great idea to modify the way we wave in our culture by actually pointing with one hand and waving with the other hand so there is no confusion. Maybe give it a try the next time you see Amber out and about in Dripping Springs... probably at the Farmer's Market! 

Our ladies are excited for Memorial Day weekend. Amber shared that it's the anniversary of when her husband asked her to be his girlfriend 12 years ago. She said it all went down on a camping trip with her soon to be boyfriend's friends. He was escorting her to the porta potty... how romantic... and she jokingly said, "Hey boyfriend" to which he replied, "Hey girlfriend!" and they lived happily ever after! 

Of course Amber has the scoop on all the fun ways they can celebrate their anniversary this weekend and they decided the Dripping Springs Rodeo is where it's at! It will be at Dripping Springs Ranch park this Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Sadly, we learned that Amber's son Phillip has aged out of mutton busting at the rodeo having recently turned 8 years old. Ashley also let us know Wimberley has their rodeo going on as well right now so you can make all the rounds and take in all the rodeo you can handle here in Central Texas. Ashley shared her favorite rodeo activity is the food! Turkey legs and fresh lemonade are right up her alley. Amber shared her favorite rodeo event is the prancing horses that dance around. We're not sure what they're called, but you get the gist. 

Last week, Ashley went to the grand opening of FairLane Coffee and Cocktails. She shared it's located just north of the Methodist Church on Ranch Road 12 right by the entrance to the Springlake Neighborhood (where Ashley happens to live... danger, danger, danger!) Ashley recently filmed a video giving us the scoop on this new locally owned Dripping Springs hot spot, but shared the Cliff Notes version with us on the Weekly Drip. It's open 7 days a week from 7am to 9pm and till 11pm on the weekends. They're serving up all the coffee and tea in the morning and later in the afternoon you can enjoy their craft cocktails, craft beer, and extensive wine list. Once you get your beverage of choice, you can then enjoy the several food trucks located on there as well. Teal House Bakery has a truck there and Ashley let us know their lemon roll, like a cinnamon roll with lemon instead of cinnamon, is NOT to be missed. Even if you're sensitive to gluten, it's worth the pain, it's THAT good! She shared their chicken salad is delicious as well. If you're in the mood for a killer burger, A.T.Eats has a food truck on site and for tacos, Mr. Chingon has opened up a 2nd location of his popular taqueria food truck. Ashley shared her concern for the future of her waistline, her liver and her bank account with all these options right outside her neighborhood! Ashley and Amber both agree that the locally owned business growth in Dripping Springs in 2023 has been amazing. Another business that just recently opened on more of the east side of Dripping Springs is HTeaO where you can find every tea under the sun and even take a gallon of it home with you. 

One last round up of some fun Memorial Day celebrations going on around Dripping Springs this weekend. Amber shared that 12 Fox Beer is having their 4 year anniversary and Memorial Day celebration this weekend. They will have BBQ, music and an artisan market. If you make it out there around 6pm on Friday they're going to have a DIY succulent bar. Deep Eddy is having music and games and prizes for Memorial Day weekend. Speaking of prizes, Amber actually won a large bottle of Deep Eddy Peach Vodka last weekend at an event at Deep Eddy. Party at Amber's house! And last but not least, Treaty Oak is having a Memorial Day car show on Saturday. So many options so get out there and enjoy Dripping Springs this holiday weekend!
