The Weekly Drip - Season 4 Episode 17

You may have been wondering where our Weekly Drip ladies were at 2PM on Wednesday. They're embracing the laidback life of summertime and pushed their weekly show back to 4PM on Wednesday for the time being, but they're still coming in hot with all things going on in Dripping Springs! We'd expect no less from our beloved Dripping Springs hype squad made up of none other than the #1 real estate agent in Dripping Springs, Ashley Tullis, and the owner of the #1 COIT Cleaning and Restoration, Amber Pierce. Ashley and Amber are sharing it ALL including some amazing FREE things going on in Dripping Springs. Free is just one of those words you don't hear often enough these days. Keep on reading the recap to see what our Weekly Drip ladies are sharing this week. Amber let us know she's been busy busy busy with all her networking events. Amber is the queen of networking in Dripping Springs so if you need to get plugged in, she's your gal! Just ask to see her very full, very color coded planner. Fun fact, Ashley and Amber actually initially met at a networking event in Dripping Springs... and look at them now! Amber attended a networking event at Summer Revival Wine this week with the Dripping Springs Elite group, also known as the top 25 real estate agents in Dripping Springs. You bet your bottom dollar Ashley, the #1 realtor in Dripping Springs, is part of the Dripping Springs Elite group so she was there too. Amber let us know that was her first time to go to Summer Revival Wine and actually try their wine. She admitted she's always there with her kids or at lunch which aren't exactly the prime times to be enjoying a glass of wine. We're happy to hear she was able to have a kid free evening and enjoy some wine!

Ashley starts us off with the scoop on some FREE food! She found out that Vista Brewing is featuring a summertime special of "Kids Eat Free" on Wednesdays. Vista Brewing is a perfect place for the whole family. They've got a playground outside for the kids and air conditioning inside for the adults. And who doesn't love free food?!?! With each adult meal purchase, you'll get 1 free kids meal. You can choose from their famous chicken nuggets, a kids hamburger or their homemade mac-n-cheese. Wednesdays at Vista Brewing also happen to be WINE Wednesdays featuring 1/2 off all bottles of Texas Wine. So a free meal for your kid and a deep discount on a bottle of wine?!?! What's not to love???

Ashley shared another fun event in town for the kids, more specifically the tweens (ages 9-14). Tween Scene will be happening at Dripping Springs Ranch Park every Thursday from now until August 10th. It's from 7PM-9PM and is $10 per tween. They'll have music, games, movies and more plus your kiddos can purchase snacks and drinks while they're there. Go ahead and give yourself a break from your moody tween for a few hours on a Thursday. 

Amber, our networking queen, let us know that the Dripping Women Entrepreneur's have their June lunch meetup on Thursday the 8th at Dripping Springs Distilling. This is a group of women in Dripping Springs running small businesses. They meet up monthly and it's a great place to network so you know Amber is almost always there! 

Another fun event happening this Saturday that Amber shared with us is the 13th Anniversary Celebration at Jester King Brewery. She let us know that Austin Flea will be there from 11AM to 3PM. Ashley clarified for us that Austin Flea is a group of flea market of vendors, like a vendor fair with all kinds of artisans. She also added a few more tidbits about this anniversary celebration sharing that they will be releasing 2 new specialty brews and in her words "roasting a whole-ass goat!" available at 1PM. There will be 5 bands performing throughout the day as well. Music, beer, fleas, goats... what more could you ask for on a Saturday in Dripping Springs???

We're full of fun facts today. Ashley shared a fun fact that she actually attended the grand opening of Jester King Brewery 13 years ago. They celebrated the grand opening with a beard competition and car show and if you know Ashley and her husband John and John's beard and their love of old cars, you know this was right up their alley. John sadly did not win that beard competition 13 years ago, but he has gone on to compete in several beard competitions all over the world and so has Ashley. Your eyes are not deceiving you, yes I said Ashley has also competed in beard competitions all over the world. Her last title was placing 4th in the world for Women's Creative Beard at the last World Beard and Mustache Championship 4 years ago. The championship was held in the Diamond Capital of the World in Belgium so she actually crafted a diamond beard to obtain her 4th place title. She promised a picture for the blog so here she is in all her bearded glory!

What are your plans at 8:32PM this Friday? If you've got nothing going on at 8:32PM, which also happens to be sunset, Ashley let us know that Movies in the Park is happening at Founders Park and they're showing "The Goonies" this week. It's a free event, just bring your blankets, your chairs, your picnic dinner and enjoy this classic movie.

Speaking of events at Founders Park, you can also catch Amber's favorite Dripping Springs Farmer's Market at Founders Park on Wednesdays. She shared her favorite item at the farmer's market is the mango habanero salsa from Native Roots Salsa. She said they've been out of it for 3 weeks in a row and they must know her by now because last week they saw her and ran over to let her know they have it in stock again. Naturally, she grabbed 2 containers to bring home and has since been burning her tastebuds off devouring the salsa by herself. 

Ashley said she loves mango salsa on fish tacos which led us to a discussion on the best local place for fish. Ashley and Amber both shared that they weren't raised eating fish and it's something they've had to acquire a taste for. Ashley said they love going to Shore Raw Bar & Grill near Oak Hill for fresh oysters and shrimp. Amber said she's not big on oysters or shrimp, but loves the heck out of some crawfish. 

Ashley already shared about the "Kids Eat Free Wednesdays" at Vista Brewing, but she has yet another event happening at her favorite chicken nugget spot. They are beginning their summer OCL Concert Series also known as Outside the City Limits, not to be confused with Austin City Limits. This event is happening at Vista Brewing this Saturday from 6PM to 9PM and it is a free outdoor concert. If you can't make it, fear not! They'll be doing these free concerts ever 2nd Saturday of the month June through September. The headliner for this month's concert is Sour Bridges. Amber's conclusion - There is a lot of great live music to be seen and heard this summer! She's not wrong!
