Ashley and Amber are at it again, bringing you the Weekly Drip and talking about everything Dripping Springs! They've got some ideas for celebrating the dads in Dripping Springs this weekend and some exciting new things happening around town that should make all the book worms giddy! Check out what our Dripping Springs hype squad (aka Ashley and Amber of the Weekly Drip) have to share by reading the recap below or checking out Ashley's YouTube page for the replay. You can always catch them every Wednesday at 4pm CST live on Facebook!

The ladies begin today discussing the excessive heat here in Dripping Springs currently. Amber said she's has basically just been running from air conditioning to air conditioning to stay cool. Ashley shared a fun fact with us that when you're in a really well air conditioned building and you're cold and then you go to your car and kind of thaw out before you turn it on, that is referred to as "lizarding." I'm not sure her source on that one because Urban Dictionary has a much different explanation of lizarding, but maybe Ashley is one step ahead of Urban Dictionary with the cool new slang. Time will tell. Ashley and Amber also both divulged that when they get home, they will sit in their car and not go inside right away. Soaking in that "me" time and grabbing a break between being boss women entrepreneurs and heading inside their home to be boss women moms. I'm sure we ALL can relate!

Ashley and Amber are both excited for Dripping Springs newest book store, Sunday Bookshop. It's right on Ranch Road 12 where Fresh Native used to be. They just opened the 22nd. Speaking of books, Ashley also shared that Dripping Springs is getting a new library as well. It will be on the property adjoined to the current library. Ashley can't say much else about the library as she's been sworn to secrecy. Ashley did share a fun history fact about the library though. The first library in Dripping Springs was at Dripping Springs Middle School which was actually the high school at the time. The library was attached to the school so even when school would close, you could still get to the library and they'd just shut it off from the school. Who knew?!? The current library in Dripping Springs was built in the late 90's and can only hold 130 people at capacity. Should be interesting to see how big the new library will be! Ashley shared that she grew up in the country without cable TV so she spent her summers reading. She would either go to the community pool or to the library and participate in the summer reading programs. Amber shared she was a reader, but she was more of a wild adventurous kid, going out in the woods, climbing trees and outside a lot. The library where she grew up was far away, so her mom would turn off the cable in the summer and kick Amber out to go play outside.

Well it's Father's Day this weekend if you didn't already know and Dripping Springs has some fun activities to help celebrate dad if he so chooses. Ashley asked her husband what he wanted to do, but hadn't yet received an answer. Sounds like a solid strategy! Ashley let us know that 12 Fox Beer Co has a picnic party from 12pm-8pm on Sunday. They're going to have smoked tenderloin, trout, a beer pong tournament and discounts for dad. Amber shared that Suds Monkey Brewing is celebrating dads on Sunday with 6 rounds of Lucha Libre wrestling from 2pm-5pm. That sounds INTENSE! Jester King Brewery is also having a Harry Potter trivia night on Sunday from 6pm-8pm if you have a Harry Potter loving father!

Amber let us know that the Dripping Springs Farmers Market moved to new summer hours. It used to be later in the day, but for the summer it is from 9am to noon. Amber also shared that Native Roots Salsa (Amber's favorite mango salsa dealer) is now serving breakfast tacos at the farmers. They do sell out so get there early! There are a couple of events for the tweens going on Thursday at Dripping Springs Ranch Park. First, they have the Dripping Springs Skate Park Initiative from 5pm-7:30pm where you can do any kind of skating. Right after that is the Tween Scene where kids can hang out with music, games, movies and more! If you're looking for other summer activities for your kids, Ashley shared that the district has opportunities to send kids to classes like cooking classes or cupcake wars classes. She also mentioned the Dripping with Kids Blog is a great resource for kid activities.

To wrap us up for the day, Amber reminded us that the HEB at US-290 and Nutty Brown Road is opening 7/5. Ashley says they have really nice views from the gas station. Perhaps it's worth the drive east of town for a tank of gas, just for the view? Ashley also heard the plant department is supposed to be amazing as well. I think we're all looking forward to having another HEB supplying Dripping Springs!
