The Weekly Drip - Season 4 Episode 6

What's going on in Dripping Springs this week??? You've come to the right place to find out and enjoy a little entertainment from our Weekly Drip hosts, Ashley Tullis of Atomic Properties Group and Amber Pierce of COIT Cleaning and Restoration. Amber celebrated her son Phillips 8th birthday this week and what better way to celebrate an 8 year old than dinner at Summer Revival Wine? I mean, move over Chuck E. Cheese! Eight year olds have STANDARDS! Amber mentioned Summer Revival Wine is a regular spot for them, at least twice a week, and who can blame them?!? They particularly enjoy the fresh hummus and the local bread from Abby Jane Bakeshop. It's no wonder Phillip wanted to celebrate his birthday there. The cherry on top of this 8 year old birthday celebration is the owner Becky put a candle in a cookie and sang Happy Birthday for Phillip. Solid choice for your 8th birthday celebration dinner, Phillip!

If you're fresh out of 8 year olds to celebrate and you're needing another excuse to visit Summer Revival Wine, Ashley's got you covered. She let us know they are having a Brosé Party this Saturday 3/25 from 4pm-7pm. What's Brosé you ask? It's a Rosé party for the bros. It sounds like ladies are welcome too, but they are partnering with Garrison Brothers Distillery and Tribeca Wine Collective to serve up Bourbon based Rosé cocktails, as well as Rosé flights and then washing it all down with a prime rib sandwich smothered in queso. I can Brosé all day with that line up! You can purchase tickets in advance for $45 or it's $55 at the door. 

Amber inquired what Ashley's been up to lately and if you've missed it, Ashley's been ALL OVER Dripping Springs filming her 30 for 30 series she's sharing on social media. She's highlighting her 30 favorite places in Dripping Springs and has had an amazing response from the community enjoying what she's sharing. She mentions how shocked she was to find out the Dripping Springs Grocery at the Citgo gas station was more of a hidden secret than she thought. They are serving up amazing breakfast tacos and all the mexican food favorites for lunch. 

Speaking of breakfast tacos, Amber shares her favorite place to grab tacos in the morning. It's the Tacos la Picosita food truck right by Suds Monkey on US-290. She let us know their red sauce has a spicy kick and is her favorite. If green sauce is more your jam, Ashley and Amber also discussed their favorite green taco sauces around town. Amber loves the green sauce from Flores and Ashley likes the green sauce at El Rey. So many tacos and so many sauces to try around town!

Per usual, there is no shortage of things to do around Dripping Springs this weekend. Amber brought up the Young Entrepreneurs Festival happening at 12 Fox Beer Co. this Sunday 3/26 from 2pm-5pm. They'll be showcasing all the best young entrepreneurs from central Texas. Such a cool event to support the youngsters and their entrepreneurial spirits!

As discussed in depth last week, the Dripping Springs Brewers Festival is also happening this weekend. Check out last weeks Weekly Drip recap blog post for all the details, but let it be known that if you're looking for a good deal and Costco is too far of a drive this weekend, this festival is for you! The VIP ticket is only $40, you get to start the beer drinking a solid 2 hours before the regular ticketed people and you get unlimited beer. Pretty sure Costco has never offered unlimited beer samples. 

Amber found out a little tid bit of information about HTeaO, the new tea spot that's soon to open in Dripping Springs. She found out it is owned by a family who has been in Dripping Springs for 20 years. How cool is that? They are expecting to open in hopefully April, but possibly May. Sounds like perfect timing with the hot Texas summer approaching.

Ashley attended an event at Alchemy Juice last week featuring Dr. Tony Jimenez, founder of Hope4Cancer Treatment Centers. This was the first of 4 free events discussing things like how your body is affected by what you consume and thinking about food as your medicine. If you missed out last week, there are 3 more free events to follow. Ashley mentioned the next conversation is around how you're emotional health impacts your actual health. 

Amber attended the Dripping Springs Chamber luncheon this week so she shared some of her major take aways. Most importantly, the new HEB is set to open in July. She also learned that Dripping Springs is still one of the fastest growing counties as well as one of the fastest growing trade areas. There are a lot of big companies wanting to move into the Dripping Springs area in the next couple of years which poses a question of what can local residents do to compete with some of the bigger companies? She also found out that the new Mighty Fine is doing their grand opening on the 1st. They are giving away gift cards anywhere from $5 to $500 for the first 50 people. Don't worry, we did the hard math for you and determined $500 would get you roughly 55 of their Mighty Fine burgers! Time to go dig the old tent out of the garage and get to camping out in front of the Mighty Fine!

We ended todays episode with Ashley mentioning a picture she saw with Kris Kristofferson and Willie Nelson on Mercer Street in downtown Dripping Springs. Ashley's pretty sure they filmed a movie in Dripping Springs and is determined to find out which one and watch it. She promised to fill us in ASAP so be sure to come back next week for the scoop!
